All Change in Orchard Shelter

Even though our much loved campsite is closed to visitors our team of contractors have been busy over the last 4 weeks going one by one to continue the improvements to Orchard Shelter.

We now have new double glazing installed across the front windows of the shelter which has completely opened up the space and reconnected it with all the wildlife that continues to thrive at Hadlow. We’ve also updated the lighting inside so its both brighter and cheaper to run. The picture below is taken from inside Orchard Shelter looking toward the car park and Gate House, as you can see the difference is amazing.

We’ve also replaced and upgraded the sink area in the shelter. We now have a separate hand washing sink, washing up sink with drainer both of which have hot and cold water, new storage cupboards and now dedicated bin and table storage areas.  We still have a few more changes to make and we’ll share more photo’s as the weeks progress.

These improvements will allow leaders and girls to enjoy using Orchard Shelter outside of the main summer months.  It’s also where we hope to host Hadlow’s Afternoon Tea’s once we are all safely allowed to come back to Hadlow to catch up over cups of tea and scones.
