June Volunteer Working Party

June Volunteer Working Party

A big thank you goes to all the volunteers from Hinderton and Ellesmere Port Divisions who came down to assist with this months volunteer working party at the site.  They were joined by our D of E volunteers and some of Birkenhead Division as well.

Despite a raining start to the morning they cleared all the over hanging vegetation from the Ice House and Woodsmoke before moving on to clean out and prepare Swallows Nest for use.  Mole Hill shelter was emptied out completely to turn it in to Fairy HQ for the new Fairy Trail and while they were at it they sorted out all the equipment for the alter fires too. The nettles that have been encroaching on to Cedar site have also be cut back and a new hedge planted along the woodland path to the campsite.

The Fairy Trail is coming together well and we’ve spotted numerous new doors and small houses going in and at the request of our new visitors our volunteers have cut back the nettles by the new gate.

This month why not have a look at the additional photo’s from around the site on our Facebook page

Our next volunteer working party is Saturday 7th July 10am until 3pm, come along for an hour or more if you can.
