Spring Time at Hadlow

With the snowdrops and daffodils in the full bloom at Hadlow spring has definitely arrived. We’ve had a busy few weeks planting the initial delivery of new tree’s as part of our ’40 Trees for Hadlow’s 40th Birthday’.

Our next planting day will be Saturday 16th March 10am – 2pm and again on Saturday April 6th 10am-2pm. Tree sponsors will be contacted once your tree arrives at the site but we also have 100’s of hedging saplings to plant to help improve our sites bio-diversity. So we look forward to seeing you at one of our planting days.

Deeside Division leaders hear at working planting their Damson Tree.

Don’t forgot we still have Hadlow’s 40th birthday cloth badge available to purchase in the shop for £1 which marks the tree planting project in its design.

We welcomed Birkenhead Division to working party on the first weekend of March where they got stuck into preparing the ground for new fruit trees in Orchard and the expansion of the vegetable garden. A big thanks to all the volunteers. We are always looking for ‘green fingered’ volunteers to lend a hand on the veg plot so get in touch if you have an hour or so to spare.

As the weather begins to improve we have now commenced work on installing the outdoor washing up area for our D of E visitors along side the toilet block; the materials are on site for the new log stores on Cedar and work will soon be underway to replace elements of the adventure playground.

We’ll keep you dated on the progress of all the works next month.
